Farm To Table
Farm to Table, will explore Michigan’s vast and diverse agricultural community by stepping into the day-to-day lives of the farmers who sustain it
Film Overview
This PBS documentary, Farm to Table, will explore Michigan’s vast and diverse agricultural community by stepping into the day-to-day lives of the farmers who sustain it. Through intimate access and long-form storytelling, the film reveals the deep-rooted passion, resilience, and generational commitment that define Michigan farming.
The Bending River Films’ team will spend approximately 8–10 months following several, multi-generational Michigan farm families from early spring planting through the fall harvest and beyond. This extended immersion allows for a genuine, nuanced understanding of what it truly means to live the life of a farmer in Michigan. Farm to Table will also feature stories of local farmer's markets and the importance of these markets to the local communities.
In addition to these family stories, the film will feature agricultural professionals who illuminate Michigan’s remarkable agricultural bounty and its vital role on the national and global stage. Together, these perspectives connect the land, the people and the food that ultimately reaches our tables.
We are planning a charity premiere in early spring of 2027 which will bring together Michigan agricultural leaders, media and the farming community.
